A comfortable setup and a little preparation can help you begin with confidence.

Begin with where you are

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. Tell the teacher what you can currently read, what you would like to learn and anything that makes you feel unsure. An honest starting point makes the conversation more useful.

Set up a quiet learning space

Choose a place where you can hear clearly and focus. Check your internet connection, microphone and speaker before the agreed time. Have your Quran or learning materials nearby, and confirm the meeting platform with the teacher.

Share your goals

You might want to begin reading, improve pronunciation or continue memorisation. Mention the learner’s age and previous experience. For a child, a parent can help with the initial setup and share useful context.

Agree on the next step

Discuss lesson timings, fees and the approach to practice directly. Ask what to prepare before the next meeting so you can continue with a clear, manageable plan.
